Dovetail Construction’s New Offices was awarded a 2010 Green Innovation award for the Best Commercial Project by the Virginia Sustainable Building Network, at VSBN’s annual meeting. The project is pursuing LEED Platinum level certification, and will eventually be a Net Zero Energy building. Notable energy features included a super insulated building envelope, high efficiency LED lighting, a high efficiency geothermal heating and cooling design, energy recovery from exhausted ventilation air, and a photovoltaic array to generate power.
